A look at some work that I’ve done
JVC 5550U (Cleaning & Inspection)
Removed all the dust and the spider habitat! (I hate spiders!!)
Cleaned and lubed all pots & switches. Checked caps and inspected all solder traces. Soaked all knobs and switches. Polished face plate back to new! This unit is standing tall again!
Nikko STA-4010 (Service, Repair & Restore)
Replaced all 4 output transistors and addressed the thermal diode epoxy breakdown (was DOA), & reflowed some dry solder traces. Complete inspection on caps, potentiometers & switches cleaned & lubricated. New bright warm white LED lamps. Another warm mellow receiver.
Sansui G-5000 (Service, Repair & Restore)
Fabricated new faceplate sides and stripped failing vinyl veneer and sanded and stained factory wood case.
Rebuilt power switch cleaned all pots and switches, set bias and offset and re-lamped with warm white LED’s.
Yamaha C-4
Complete service and recap.
Total restoration and customization of Zenith console.
Custom installed a turntable (was missing) cleaned all switches and potentiometers and inspected all capacitors. Installed a Bluetooth DAC for streaming music. Sanded and restored with stain/oil. Finished off with wax and feed. Customer was very happy and gifted to his son for Christmas!
Boston Acoustics T1030 (Speaker Service)
Re-foam all 4 woofer surrounds. Cleaned and polished cones and cabinets.
Ready for another 30 years of amazing sound!
Pioneer CS-99AA (Speaker Service)
Re-foamed tweeters, replaced out of tolerance capacitors in crossover and cleaned and lubed Lpads.
Oiled and waxed cabinets. Ready for another 40 years!
Harman Kardon 730 (Service, Repair & Restore)
Checked all caps, resistors, transistors, etc.. for signs of failure. Checked all solder joints and traces. Found cracked solder joints
on input board. Reflowed all solder joints and readjusted loose board connection.
Cleaned all pots and switches. Adjusted idle current to spec 35 mV.
Clean and polished knobs and face plate. This receiver sounds amazing now!
Adcom GFA555 and Adcom GTP450 (Service, Repair & Restore)
Checked all caps, resistors, transistors, etc.. for signs of failure. Checked all solder joints and traces.
Total recap on input board of power amp. Replaced broken RCA input jack and Set DC offset on amp.
Cleaned all pots and switches on preamp.
Clean and polished knobs and face plate. This amp is ready for powering whatever the customer throws at it!
Yamaha CA810 (Service, Repair & Restore total recap!)
Checked all caps, resistors, transistors, etc.. for signs of failure. Checked all solder joints and traces.
Total recap on all boards. Removed all transistors and cleaned corrosion from hardened factory glue.
Set DC offset,idle current to spec. Cleaned all pots and switches.
Cleaned and polished knobs and face plate. This amp is ready for years of enjoyment!
